Paga Passes The Loyalty Test By Declining Partnership Deal With Arsenal FC

No, we're Chelsea FC.

Paga CEO Tayo Oviosu

On behalf of Paga, CEO Tayo Oviosu has reportedly declined a partnership deal proposed by Arsenal Football Club. This happens to be a loyalty test whereby Oviosu is a die-hard fan of Chelsea FC that motivated Paga CEO to decline partnering with North London’s finest football team to leverage FinTech growth from Africa to Europe.

The Paga and Arsenal FC partnership brawl has reportedly stirred reactions on the internet via Twitter where football enthusiasts share tweets that denote Oviosu’s myopic business management traits that prioritize pleasure. Other tweeters consent that Oviosu ”should never let misdirected personal sentiments get in the way of sound business judgment” which denotes the partnership deal could advance e-payment solutions in penetrating the British market.

It is worth noting that the Arsenal FC proposal was forwarded to Oviosu’s private inbox via email while the Paga CEO breached the confidentiality of the proposal by sharing a screenshot of the letter on the bird app. Oviosu tweeted Arsenal’s proposal as his reply to the North London football club — the tweet was captioned “No, we are Chelsea”.

According to the letter sent by Partnership Development Director Arsenal Football Club proposed to discuss how the Arsenal FC intends to impact a global leverage on the e-payment company with inclusive brand equity to alter Paga’s growth in its existing market that schemes to drive thorough financial inclusion via Paga e-payment solutions.

“With 638 million followers worldwide, 468 million TV viewership, and a fanbase who are 25% more likely than the general population to have sent money to friends or family or to a different country in the last month, a partnership like this can deliver both reach and performance.

We always strive to partner with like-minded, caring brands like Paga. The Arsenal Way is to ‘Act for a Winning Team, Culture, and Community’, and our values to ‘Always Move Forward’, ‘Be Together’ and to take ‘Actions that Matter’, are well-aligned to those of Paga, in particular its commitment to enriching people’s lives.”

While Arsenal FC was looking forward to hearing from Oviosu’s myopia to business relations, the Paga CEO was already showing off his ego on the bird app with the intent to prove he’s a loyal football fan of Chelsea FC that is yet to counter Arsenal’s offer since Oviosu’s loyalty test was painted blue and orange — in line with Paga CEO fantasy to partner with his favourite football club.
