Quora’s Poe Adds Group Chats with 200 Users, 200+ AI Models

Quora’s AI platform Poe, which brings together hundreds of AI models in a single interface, has launched a new group chat feature. Starting Monday, users worldwide can create group chats with up to 200 participants, allowing them to collaborate with more than 200 AI models including text, image, video, and audio generators all within the same conversation.

The update arrives just days after OpenAI began testing group chats in Japan, New Zealand, South Korea, and Taiwan. Together, these moves signal a shift from AI as a one-on-one assistant to a more collaborative space where friends, families, and teams can interact with AI and with each other at the same time.

Quora says group chats on Poe will unlock new interactive experiences. For example, families or friends could plan a trip by combining Gemini 2.5’s search tools with o3 Deep Research. Teams could brainstorm ideas using Poe’s various image generators, or groups could even play trivia games powered by Poe’s quiz bots.

Participants can choose any mix of AI models or creator-made bots inside a group chat, including Claude 4.5 Sonnet, Eleven Labs v3 and Eleven Labs Music, Nano Banana, GPT-5.1, Kling 2.5 Turbo Pro, o3 Deep Research, Sora 2 Pro, and Veo 3.1.

Users can create one directly from Poe’s home screen on the mobile app or via poe.com. Chat history syncs instantly across devices, so a conversation started on desktop can continue seamlessly on mobile.

Quora says the feature has been in development for the past six months and will continue to evolve over the coming weeks as the team incorporates user feedback. The company believes the potential for AI-mediated group interactions is enormous and still largely unexplored. It also highlighted that anyone can build a custom bot on Poe and share it for use inside group chats, opening the door to entirely new collaborative use cases.

Poe is available globally on both desktop and mobile, and the new group chat feature is designed to be easy for anyone to use start a chat, invite others, and begin collaborating with any combination of people and AI models.
