Russia Says U.S Is Leading Massive ‘Cyber Aggression’ Against It

The Russia-Ukraine faceoff just got more heated as Russian authorities has on Tuesday launched an attack on the United States, accusing the country of leading a massive campaign of “cyber aggression” behind hundreds of thousands of malicious attacks a day.

The United States has shown where its allegiance lies in the two countries faceoff, as it calls for sanctions against Russia, who is largely seen as the aggressor with its offensive against Ukraine.

Ever since Russian troops began a Military action in Ukraine late February, a host of Western countries have cut ties with the Vladimir Putin-led country, with tech and social media giants joining the fray as they impose heavy sanctions on Ukraine.

The Russian Foreign Ministry in a statement said, the country’s media, critical infrastructure and life support systems had been targeted, with the unprecedented scale pointing at U.S. and NATO-trained Special Forces as well as hackers acting on behalf of Kyiv’s western sponsors.

Part of the Statement by the Russian authorities read:

“The sources of attacks will be identified and the attackers will inevitably be held accountable for their actions in accordance with the law.”

It would be recalled that NBC News had last month reported that the U.S. President, Joe Biden in the wake of the Russian invasion on Ukraine and the U.S. stance against it was presently with litany of options by his associates and part of the options included the disruption of Russia’s internet services, power and railroad switches, a claim the White House shrugged off, saying it is “wildly off base.”

President Biden on his part, accused Russia of planning a cyber attack against the United States, a claim Kremlin denied.

The Russian foreign ministry in its latest accusation posited that it believed Ukraine’s government, who had last month announced the formation of an “IT army”, was  fully complicit in the  attack, as it had launched an “offensive cyber force”.

Russia’s Telecoms firm, Rostelecom and the country’s digital ministry had recently reported attacks in their cybersecurity arms.
