Storming back from the setback of its unfulfilled Tizen smartphone launch in Russia, Samsung is now rumoured to hit the market in India with its Tizen-based smartphone this December. Reports from various trusted news outlets suggests the launch is slated for as early as December 10.
The originally planned Russian unveiling of the Tizen device was scheduled for May after Samsung had publicised several prototypes. However, a decision was later made to abruptly halt the rollout without providing explicit reasons.
The introduction of the new Z1 model seemingly infers that Samsung may have integrated some upgrades into the device since its initial model named Samsung Z. The intriguing question here is what these new features might be.
For the benefit of recalling, the Tizen phone that never officially premiered sported a respectable 4.8-inch 720p display, a massive 3.2GHz processor, a 2600mAh battery, 2GB of RAM, and internal storage of 16GB complete with microSD support. The phone also boasted an 8-megapixel rear camera and a 2.1-megapixel front-facing shooter, should it have indeed seen the light of day.
We eagerly wait for more details on this potentially transformative device and promise to continually keep you informed. In the meantime, you can learn more about Tizen here
