Samsung Halts Note 7 Production Following Numerous Fire Incidents

The incident led to the airline issuing a warning to all passengers to refrain from using the Note 7 during flights. Another worrying incident involves Michael Klering of Nicholasville, Kentucky. Klering claims to have woken up at 4AM to find his room thick with smoke and his replacement Note 7 ablaze. He subsequently sought medical attention for acute bronchitis caused by smoke inhalation.

In the aftermath of reports detailing a third replacement phone catching fire, Samsung has remained noticeably silent. However, inside sources have tipped off American news media that Samsung has temporarily halted the production of the Note 7. This move is the direct consequence of several telecommunications companies in the US and Australia refusing to offer the phone in their contract deals following the surges of battery-related problems.

In a statement made to the South Korean stock exchange, Samsung mentioned that they would be “temporarily adjusting the Galaxy Note 7 production schedule in order to take further steps to ensure quality and safety matters”. They plan to report back in a month with more information.
