Key Features to Evaluate Before Purchasing the Samsung Galaxy Note 8

The launch of Samsung’s Galaxy Note 8 has been marked with anticipation, particularly given it comes ahead of the one year anniversary of the unfortunate fire incidents that cast a shadow on the launching of the Note 7. These calamities led the smartphone giant to halt production on the faulty device. However, for those who were left disappointed after purchasing the Note 7 just to later learn that the device was being recalled due to safety issues, Samsung has you in mind.

In a move that demonstrates a commitment to customer satisfaction, Samsung is extending a discount of up to $425 on the $960 Galaxy Note 8 to all U.S. Galaxy Note 7 owners. However, to take advantage of this offer, customers must trade in their existing device starting from the 24th of August on the official [Samsung website](http://www.samsung.com/us/). And you may wonder why this discount isn’t available to other users. The main reason is that the Note 7 barely reached international markets before the devices were recalled. To put it in clearer terms, the recall went into effect about a month after its launch, which was not enough time for the Note 7 to penetrate other global markets, apart from the US and South Korea. Hence, the discount is only viable for American buyers of the Note 7.

The Galaxy Note 8, which comes in shades of midnight black, deepsea blue, orchid gray, and maple gold, allows users to enjoy an array of features. A unique feature is the DeX, which turns your smartphone into a desktop experience once it’s connected to a monitor with the right dock. Additionally, the Apps Edge allows users to simultaneously launch two apps in a split-screen mode. If you’re a fan of sharing your moments on social media, creating GIFs from videos on the Note 8 has been made easier than ever.

Additionally, you can now handwrite a message or picture, and it will be sent as an animated drawing. These live messages are saved as GIFs for easy sharing across social platforms. Highlighting sentences in foreign languages with the S Pen will give instant translations in about 71 languages. The S pen also offers a ‘Screen Off Memo’ mode, where you can take notes on up to 100 pages with your screen turned off.

Unless any unforeseen circumstances arise, the Samsung Galaxy Note 8 seems like a solid purchase.

Here is a rundown of its standout features for you to consider before making a decision:

– Display: 6.3-inch Quad HD+ (2960×1440) Super AMOLED.
– Processor: Equipped with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 in the United States and a Samsung Exynos Octa core in the other regions.

– Digital Assistant: Comes with Samsung Bixby as a digital assistant.
– Battery: 3300mAh

– Chassis: The body is IP68 water and dust-resistant.
– Colors: Available in midnight black, deepsea Blue, orchid gray, and maple gold.
