5 Most Useful Smartphone Features for Busy Business Users

Business owners can manage their venture by using just one handy device: a smartphone. With this gadget, entrepreneurs can get in touch with their clients or customers, accept and send payments, arrange for orders to be delivered, access data they need before making a decision, etc. With just one device, business owners can keep track of (and even run) their business whenever and wherever they are.

If you are a busy entrepreneur, you can be sure you will have a reliable, complete device you can use to monitor your business and manage certain processes by choosing the most suitable smartphone. You can do this by getting a smartphone that has the following key features.

1.  The ideal screen size for all the work you will have to do on the go

As a busy business owner, you will often be on the road or away from your office. You can keep track of everyday operations and all the important things happening in your business by using your smartphone.

To have an easier time reading reports and emails and doing other things, you need a phone with the right screen size. A screen size between four and five inches is sufficient for people who often use a smartphone for reading, sending and writing emails, creating reports, etc.

This is because handsets in this range maximize versatility and functionality. This size range will also keep you from squinting when reading something and making mistakes when typing an email or report.

Phones with screen sizes between four and five inches are comfortable to hold and can still fit in your pocket. As such, you will not feel too tired while holding the device for a long time. What’s more, you can hide your phone anywhere that is more convenient for you.

2.  A long battery life

Since you will be using your phone for hours for calls, messaging, and doing other tasks, it is important that it does not die on you after just a while, especially if you cannot charge it immediately.

It is, therefore, best to choose a smartphone that can last for at least 15 hours on a single charge. Handsets with at a 2000 mAh battery can give you this. Check out online reviews and product specifications to find out which handsets can last for a really long time on just one charge.

3.     Fast charging capabilities

Fast charging is a must-have smartphone feature today. This is especially true if you are a busy business owner. You will not always have enough time on your hands to wait for hours until your handset reaches a full battery charge.

Many new handsets can give you more than five hours of battery life after just 15 minutes of charging. Some models, however, will require the use of a fast charger, which you will have to buy separately.

It is a worthwhile investment if juicing up your phone as quickly as possible has a positive impact on your routine.

4.     High RAM capacity

Using your phone to do several things at once can cause it to crash. You can avoid encountering this issue whenever you multitask by getting a handset with at least 2GB RAM. Typically, the higher the RAM, the better. If budget is not a concern for you when it comes to getting a new smartphone, buy one with higher RAM capacity.

5.     Sufficient processing power

As a business user on the go, you will have to use and rely on apps for various purposes. A good smartphone processor should translate to faster open times for apps, quicker photo editing, smoother gameplay, and the ability to perform functions when your screen is off.

To gauge the power and speed of a handset’s processor, check its clock speed or gigahertz value and its die size. The newest and fastest mobile processors have clock speeds ranging from 1.8 GHz to 2.2 GHz; however, anything above 1 GHz is already acceptable.

In terms of die size, it is best to get a phone with a small die size since such units generate less heat and waste less energy. Getting a smartphone with a processor that has a 14 to 20 nanometer die size should be sufficient.

A Word on Apps

Various apps can help you become more productive and manage your business even when you are mobile. If your phone has high RAM and processing capacity, you can install and use the following handy apps:

  • Wunderlist
  • Evernote
  • Slack
  • RescueTime
  • Wave
  • Spark
  • Hootsuite
  • 1Password

With the right features and apps, you can effectively stay on top of your business by just using your smartphone.
