
Earlier today, Snapchat announced the launch of its year-end Recaps, where it will be giving users a snapshot of their 2025 highlights so far. This is also more like Year-In-Review from Snaptchat to this users globally. The feature seeks to deliver a brief, personalized video drawing from Snaps, Stories, and Chats to reflect how users interacted throughout the year.
Snapchat further stated that, by launching the app and going to the “Memories” area, users can see their Recap, which is a “Your 2025 Snap Recap” card will be visible there. The company also said that, this act is intended to be a “Spotify Wrapped” style experience for your Snapchat memories that can be shared.
Companies including Spotify, Apple Music, Amazon Music, and Duolingo have all posted their own end-of-year summaries at the same time as this action.
Snapchat provided data on the usage of the social media app during the previous 12 months in addition to the Recaps.
The company gave an instance as a scenario where phone calls are still thriving, pointing out that users logged close to 1.7 billion call minutes per day on average, nearly 30% more than a year ago. Meanwhile, U.S. users sent over five billion voice notes, which is roughly a 10% annual increase.
As seen, the number of people sending messages to group conversations increased grossly by more than 5% in 2025, and some users sent more than 8,880 messages to their top group chat this year, according to its statistics, which is pointing and demonstrating to the fact that the group chats are still a popular method to communicate on Snapchat.
The business also reported that Chat Reactions increased by 44% this year, with the most popular emoji being the heart. This year, three million more people utilised stickers as a means of communication.
The Snap’s 2025 Recap release, simply coincides with user outcry over the business’s intentions to impose its storage fees in the coming year, 2026. However, from a post on X, formerly Twitter, and Tiktok some are advocating for a boycott in an effort to persuade the firm to reconsider its decisions. Also in September, Snapchat declared that 5GB would be the maximum amount of free access to its user’s Memories account. A user must sign up for one of the new Memories Storage plans offered by the service if their memories surpass this cap which is allocated by default.
For $1.99 a month, its users can get up to 100GB of storage with the basic storage plan. Snapchat Platinum subscribers receive 5TB of storage as part of their $15.99 monthly subscription, while Snapchat+ users receive up to 250GB as part of their $3.99 monthly subscription.
For Snapchat users and customers to access and view their Recaps, even though the feature is being rolled out gradually, and so not all users will see it immediately once they log on to their individual Snapchat accounts. Users can follow this simple steps, to view their Snapchat Recaps;
- By simply launching the Snapchat application from their devices.
- The Memories area may be accessed by swiping up from the Camera screen.
- And then look for a “Your 2025 Snap Recap” highlighted card.
- To see your year-end tale and tap on it, to have a feel of it.
At this point, after following easy and simple steps outlined above, the user has the option of sharing the video with friends and adding it to their Story or saving it to their phone’s camera roll. Users also the equal opportunity to share on other desired platforms.
