
Next month, Sony is apparently going to present a State of Play broadcast, as it is preparing for a significant State of Play broadcast for February 2026. Although Sony has not yet formally confirmed the event, the rumours are regarded as very plausible because of the sources’ track records and Sony’s five-year history of having showcases in February.
Industry insiders claim that the PlayStation parent company is organising a webcast in the first half of February that will highlight new PS5 games. Sony provided updates on games produced in Japan during the most recent State of Play show, which took place in November 2025.
NateTheHate, an industry insider, claims that Sony will hold a State of Play event the following month. In response to a question on X on Monday, the tipster stated that a State of Play show would take place in the first half of February.
Jeff Grubb of Giant Bomb has also confirmed that a Sony State of Play show is in the works. Grubb stated that the firm planned to have a State of Play event the week of February 12 in the most recent episode of the Game Mess Mornings podcast.
He stated on the show, “I guess it’s probably always safe to say, ‘the week of February 12’. It’s happening on February 12.” “It seems like it will be a fairly large one.”
Sony’s plans to have a State of Play event have not yet been confirmed.
Japanese developers’ games were highlighted during the most recent State of Play, which was held in November. Prior to that, a gameplay trailer for Insomniac Games’ Wolverine was ultimately released during the State of Play broadcast in September.
An update on Housemarque’s Saros, scheduled for release in April, might be included in the February State of Play report. There may also be a new trailer for Naughty Dog’s Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet, or Wolverine, during the event. Insomniac Games has revealed a possible release date for Marvel’s Wolverine.
Also Marathon, updates or new gameplay for Bungie’s next shooter, scheduled for release on March 5, 2026. Third-party titles with information about upcoming Square Enix games, Crimson Desert, and Resident Evil Requiem.
Third-party studios will probably make announcements about their upcoming games at the event.
Playground titles gave a detailed look at two of its future titles, Forza Horizon 6 and Fable, during last week’s Xbox Developer Direct program.
Only a few days prior to the broadcast, Sony usually releases official announcements. A confirmation from the Official PlayStation Blog might appear in the first week of February, based on the suggested timeframe.
