As part of ongoing efforts to assist Ukraine in its battle with Russia, Elon Musk-owned SpaceX’s internet service Starlink is available in Ukraine, according to Elon Musk. The billionaire also said that more terminals are already being sent to Ukraine to assist the country with communication challenges.

The conflict between Russia and Ukraine has caused a lot of disruptions in Ukraine’s call and internet services due to attack on key infrastructure by Russian missiles and troops. Kyiv – Ukraine’s capital has been the most hit. Starlink’s technology will give Ukraine all the uninterrupted and rigid communication that the country needs at this dire moment.

Elon Musk help came after a question and cry for help from Ukraine’s Minister of Digital transformation – Mykhailo Fedorov. The government official’s Saturday tweet read “@elonmusk while you try to colonize Mars — Russia try to occupy Ukraine! While your rockets successfully land from space — Russian rockets attack Ukrainian civil people! We ask you to provide Ukraine with Starlink stations and to address sane Russians to stand”.

Elon Musk responded to the tweet saying that “Starlink service is now active in Ukraine. More terminals en route”.

Starlink which provides internet services via space and satellite technology aims to provide faster internet around the world. It also wants to provide access in “overlooked” areas and areas where internet speed is only as fast as a snail.

As of the 29th of February, the internet company’s beta service is available in 29 countries around the globe. Last year, SpaceX was also a topic of discussion and many were of the opinion that Elon Musk could become a trillionaire thanks to the company.

As of Sunday, Ukraine had raised over $10 million worth of cryptocurrency – specifically Bitcoin and Ether through two crypto addresses the country’s official handle shared. Collectively, the government alongside other NGOs providing support for Ukraine’s military has raised donations worth over $16 million.
