If you’re an aspiring tech entrepreneur and couldn’t attend this year’s Techplus Conference & Expo, you truly missed something significant. Known to be one of Africa’s most renowned tech events, Techplus is a major attraction for global tech organizations, providing an arena for dialogue, knowledge sharing, and collaboration in the burgeoning digital landscape.

This year’s convention spanned over 3 days and witnessed participation from more than 90 influential tech personalities, including the Minister of Communication, Barrister Adebayo. The conference was abuzz with discussions encompassing a wide range of relevant topics—from startups, eSports, eCommerce, women in tech, to tech life and media marketing. The central agenda for the event was to bolster the technology startup scene, a goal that it managed to comprehensively achieve.

At the Landmark event centre in Lagos, where this epic event took place, both nascent startups and seasoned tech players from diverse sectors such as education, healthcare, and advertising had the chance to showcase their groundbreaking products and services. Major brands such as UBA, Injoo, Stanbic IBTC, Wema Bank, Sage, Samsung, Lenovo, Jumia, Avon HMO, and HP were also part of the illustrious attendees’ list.

Numerous event attendees offered positive feedback. Jide Mathew from Advice, a content service and mobile advertising company, praised the use of social media by organizers: “I’m genuinely impressed that the organizers were able to leverage social media to attract a dynamic and high-quality young audience for a sustained period of three days. Our company has forged many new contacts, which we believe will evolve into durable and substantial business relationships.”

Among other lauding reviews, Rakesh Rocque, country manager of Injoo Technology, commended the impact of the event on his brand and lauded the organizers for orchestrating such a platform. He said, “Not only was it an excellent platform for marketing and networking, but it was also educational. We intend to continue availing the benefits conferred by the Techplus platform annually.”

Adding to this chorus of praise, Nduanya Nonso, Product Marketing head from UBA, highlighted the positive customer response to their product, suggesting, “If such a vast platform could be extended across major cities in Nigeria, it would immensely bolster consumer-brand relationships.”

Even the health sector did not seem to be far from the reach of this technological congregation. Kehinde John from Avon HMO commended the endeavor of the event organizers and confirmed that the event was highly beneficial for startups. He optimistically stated, “There is hope that Nigeria will thrive with more of such world-class events.”

In conclusion, the Techplus event this year was a resounding success—largely due to the power of social media. With anticipation mounting, we’re eager to see an even grander Techplus in the coming year.
