The LG G Watch

Introduced at the bustling Moscone Center in San Francisco, CA, the LG G Watch marked a significant step in the evolution of Android Wear devices. As one of the first Google-powered smartwatches, the LG G Watch set the stage for future innovations in this technology. However, due to constraints at the release event, we were limited to initial experiences, unable to fully explore the device’s many features.

At first glance, the G Watch matches a minimalist aesthetic. Its design is primarily a black square featuring a 1.65-inch display, opting for simplicity over extravagant aesthetics. It doesn’t showcase revolutionary design or display features, instead, its appeal lies within the subtly compelling simplicity. The gray rubber strap prioritizes function over elaborate wristwear designs, representing a break away from more extravagant trends. Unfortunately, during our preview, the software was confined to “retail mode,” restricting our understanding of the full range of features and capabilities the device possesses.

The LG G Watch followed Samsung Gear Live’s steps, debuting with a pre-order option and retailing at $229. It was scheduled for official availability to buyers from July 2nd, paving the way for a new generation of smartwatches.
