Lensa AI, a photo and video editing app, developed in 2018 by Prisma labs recently went viral over its newly introduced ‘magic avatars’ feature. A feature which gave users the ability to turn their selfies to portraits of themselves as fantasy, anime characters etc.

The apps popularity and the increase in demand for AI edits means that for the first time, the top 3 apps in the US app stare have been AI apps.

Lensa AI had an unprecedented 12.6million installs globally in the first 11 days of December accounting for a 600% increase in similar time frame the previous month.

However, there are growing concerns on the safety of images fed into the app. While the apps assure users of safety of their images, the wordings in the terms and conditions gave the app “all rights in and to your user content”, which includes the option to use them in a wide variety of different ways.

The AI apps has also been accused of using the style of artists and sometimes their actual images without permission and even compensation.

Prisma Labs addressed some of the concerns about the app in a twitter.

“As soon as the avatars are generated, the user’s photos and the associated model are erased permanently from our servers. And the process would start over again for the next request,” it wrote in a tweet.

It also aimed to calm the criticism of making artist useless saying “AI produces unique images based on the principles derived from data, but it can’t ideate and imagine things on its own. As cinema didn’t kill theatre and accounting software hasn’t eradicated the profession, AI won’t replace artists but can become a great assisting tool,”

“We also believe that the growing accessibility of AI-powered tools would only make man-made art in its creative excellence more valued and appreciated, since any industrialization brings more value to handcrafted works.

Lensa AI has been so successful because of successes have been due to its ease of use, ability to provide a variety of features, and its sheer affordability. There are a lot of apps in the Google Play Store that provide similar features to Lensa Ai, but none of them have been as successful. That is because of the ease of use and the ability to provide a variety of features.

The future of AI is bright, and it is only going to get brighter. More and more businesses are starting to use AI-powered technologies because they are better and more efficient, and they are providing more effective solutions. In the future, AI will be used to help businesses make better decisions, and it will be able to do so without the need for any human input. This will make it so that more businesses will be able to provide better services to their customers.

The impact of the Lensa AI is has shown us a glimpse of the impact artificial intelligence will have on the future. It is a great product and a huge step forward for artificial intelligence.
