In Germany, Portugal, and Spain, TikTok is releasing a new version of its software dubbed “TikTok Pro.” The app allows users to help charity organisations through TikTok’s new “Sunshine Programme.”
By asking others to join and engaging with content connected to charity, such as like or reposting videos, following charity accounts, or looking up philanthropic causes, users can earn “virtual sunshine.” Following their usage of this virtual sunshine for charitable purposes, TikTok will donate to the cause.
It is important to note that, according to Social Media Today, the content on TikTok Pro is identical to that on the standard TikTok app. TikTok Pro differs from the original app in that it lacks advertisements, shopping capabilities, and live-streaming.
“To enable people in Europe to support charitable organisations while discovering engaging and entertaining TikTok content,” according to TikTok, is the concept behind the new app.
TikTok team says its goal at TikTok is to enable organisations to increase public awareness, rally support, and generate revenue for their initiatives. In order to help achieve that aim, we’re releasing TikTok Pro today along with a trial of our brand-new Sunshine referral program, which will allow users in Europe to find amusing and interesting TikTok content while also supporting charitable causes.
With our Sunshine Program integrated into it, TikTok Pro is a new software that lets users enjoy and interact with happy and entertaining content. It is initially being released in Germany, Portugal, and Spain. The Sunshine Program gives NGOs and charities a special opportunity to reach new audiences and receive assistance from the TikTok Pro community. By encouraging others to sign up and by interacting with charitable content—such as like or reposting videos, following accounts dedicated to charities, and conducting searches connected to charities—users can accrue “virtual Sunshine.” Following that, users can donate the virtual Sunshine to a charity through the program, and TikTok will donate to that organisation.
Through the Sunshine Program, TikTok is collaborating with several local and international charities, such as the Nature and Biodiversity Conservation Union (NABU), Médecins Sans Frontières / Doctors Without Borders (MSF), WaterAid, and Aktion Deutschland Hilft. Over time, we anticipate adding more partners.
With TikTok’s Sunshine Program, we’re thrilled to be transforming digital interaction into tangible change. People may now help WaterAid’s life-changing projects with communities worldwide while still enjoying the material they love. Almost 10% of people worldwide lack access to clean water in their local area. With a reliable supply of clean water, new-borns are born healthier, children grow up stronger, women and girls spend less time collecting water and more time in work or school, and whole communities may prosper. Together, we will use water to transform the planet. — WaterAid Executive Director of Fundraising and Communications, Jennie York.
Safety is at the heart of both the Sunshine Program and TikTok Pro. Similar to the standard TikTok app, TikTok Pro provides the same content filters, privacy and safety safeguards, and well-being features. Only those who have verified they are older than eighteen are eligible to participate in the Sunshine Program, and there aren’t many things that may be done to earn Sunshine.
In Germany and Portugal, TikTok Pro is currently accessible through the App Store and Google Play, and the Sunshine Program will soon be launched. Spain will soon see the launch of TikTok Pro and the Sunshine Program.
