TikTok To Add A ‘Watch History’ Feature That Allows Users Easily Find That Video They Saw

Popular Video sharing platform, TikTok seems to be testing a new feature: a new Watch History that saves users the stress of trying to find a video that they thought that they have saved. The new feature is mooted to relieve users of the video-music app the mental torture of trying to locate a video they believed they have saved but found difficult to locate.

Matt Navarra, a renowned social media consultant giving a clue of the new feature retweeted some findings from Hammod Oh, a tech lover renowned for unearthing leaks and upcoming features on various social platforms.

Hammod Oh had tweeted: #TikTok is testing adding a watch history feature in the app.

The screenshot under Hammod Oh’s post showed a ‘Watch History’ option that was placed to appear under the ‘Content and Activity’ heading of the  user settings, an indication that TitTok will soon avail users of a straightforward way to browse through a running list of videos on the TikTok app that they have seen before.

The details on how the ‘Watch History’ page would fully function, its direct look, the process of compiling previously watched videos are still sketchy but the ByteDance owned company is not famed for half-dealings, it is expected it perfects all grey areas before fully launching the feature. The Chinese social networking company has not released any official statement to this statement but based on feelers, the feature may come soon than expected.

If the new feature comes into fruition, it would relieve millions of users on the TikTok network who have to battle daily in their search for workarounds; with alternative the hassles of looking through the thousands of videos on the app not looking now like a veritable option.

Some users may have devised new means to solve it, part of them is the process of filtering all search results by videos that they have seen, and another will require them to download all their TikTok data just to find a single video.

Having being aware that TikTok’s videos are meant to be binged so after 30 minutes of watching, it would be very difficult to find the videos one has already seen as an average user goes through around 20 to 30 videos over the course of a week.

These methods appear like a poisoned chalice and hopefully when TikTok comes through with the Watch History feature, it would save them a lot of time.
