Twitter Just Launched Its Subscription Service In Canada And Australia

Twitter has officially launched Twitter Blue. The premium subscription service was launched yesterday for Australian and Canadian markets. Twitter blue is Twitter’s first-ever subscription-based service and will provide subscribers with unlimited access to premium features on Twitter. The ‘Undo Tweet’ feature is one of the premium features that users will enjoy. It will provide  users with the ability to review and revise their tweet before it’s visible to their followers on Twitter. Other features include tools to organize bookmarks into folders and keep up with Twitter threads.

The Undo Tweet feature was first announced months ago via tweet by Jane Manchun Wong. Wong is in the business revealing imminent Twitter features that have either not been unveiled or are still undergoing beta testing. Wong, in her tweet, also made a tacit suggestion that Twitter was going to unveil a subscription plan alongside the new ‘Undo Tweet’ feature and that only subscribed users will be able to use the ‘Undo Tweet’ feature. The Undo Tweet feature is the closest thing Twitter will have to the long demanded “Edit” button.

Twitter in a blog post mentioned that Twitter Blue’s premium features has been designed to meet users needs. “We’ve heard from the people that use Twitter a lot, and we mean a lot, that we don’t always build power features that meet their needs. Well, that’s about to change. We took this feedback to heart, and are developing and iterating upon a solution that will give the people who use Twitter the most what they are looking for: access to exclusive features and perks that will take their experience on Twitter to the next level.”, Twitter said.

Users will still be able to use the micro-blogging platform without having a subscription; users do not have to panic about not being able to use Twitter without paying. According to Twitter, Blue is “simply meant to add enhanced and complementary features to the already existing Twitter experience for those who want it.”

Twitter’s initial launch of Twitter Blue in just two countries is to test if the feature will fly. Twitter explained that it is starting Twitter Blue with the selected markets of Canada and Australia to help it determine whether its existing feature set will meet the needs of those who are looking for more customization over their Twitter experience. Twitter mentioned that the Twitter Blue subscription will cost $3.49 CAD for users in Canada and $4.49 AUD for Australian subscribers.

Generated feedback of Twitter Blue will determine how high the feature will soar. Still, users will have to decide for themselves if Twitter Blue’s extra perks are worth paying for.
