Twitter To Develop A Feature That Allows You To Tweet Exclusively To Your Circle Of Friends

Lately, internet platforms are keener about privacy and monetisation— especially Twitter, the bird app has reportedly added new features to back up its media and its users to function with a free mind. Twitter revealed two new concepts that toughen up its security system — this feature allows users to target their preferred audience who will experience the tweet they share.

According to the bird app designer, Andrew Courter, Twitter users can select preferred audiences without changing privacy settings or switching accounts. He disclosed one of the concepts as a designated group Twitter dubbed “Trusted Friends” — this feature has existed in other social media such as Facebook and Instagram.

For contrast, Andrew noted the simplicity of this feature enables you to toggle your audience which is also applicable to those who reply to your tweet —  “perhaps your timeline might let you see trusted friends’ Tweets first.” This serves as an alternative to the original “Home” algorithm Twitter and every other social media utilizes.

However, the second feature will allow users to split their account still in the same Twitter profile. This feature is suitable for professional personnel who can easily tweet about their profession to a selected audience while other kinds of tweets for friends and family members on Twitter.

According to Andrew’s description, Twitter dubbed this tool “Facet” — you can either use this option as a persona public or private Twitter profile,  whereby your new followers can either choose to which of your Facet they want to view.

The bird app designer also revealed another feature that allows you to filter your replies according to your perception of words and phrases you would entertain from your audience. Still, if your followers or other users mention or reply to your tweet using this set of words you despise, Twitter will notify them about the words that contradict your preferences.

It worth noting that, this feature does not restrict users from replying to your tweet with ill words, but it reduces the chances of experiencing vulgar thoughts by other users on your timeline. Remember, these privacy measures have once been featured on Twitter to counter bullies and other means of constitutional violence.

Andrew noted Twitter intends to instigate conversational boundaries — still he did not disclose when these features will roll out in the bird app which means Andrew and his team of developers are working on this feature. This announcement aims at getting feedback on how Twitter users will react to this feature.
