Chipper Cash and Ukeshe — a South African financial company — have formed a partnership deal to enhance the efficiency of payment systems in the African continent. This collaboration was done in a bid to strengthen the system of financial transactions across African countries. With this new development, Chipper Cash aims to leverage Ukeshe’s Eclipse API system to boost customer services.

Chipper Cash currently operates in different African countries including Nigeria, Ghana,  Uganda, Tanzania, Kenya, Rwanda and South Africa. The company also offers financial services in the United Kingdom. Since its inception, the goal of Chipper Cash has been to enable easy financial transactions for Africans. Therefore with the new partnership with Ukeshe, the company has gone a step further in achieving its objectives.

Established by Ham Serujogi and Majid Moujaled in 2018, Chipper Cash is one of Africa’s fastest-growing startups. In May 2021, the company became a Unicorn after its $100 million Series C funding round led by SVB capital.

Chipper Cash offers users mobile-based peer-to-peer transactions across different countries, which require zero charges. Chipper Cash has an estimated four million active users and according to data, four hundred thousand people subscribe to the platform daily. The company also performs more than eighty thousand transactions per day and has an average transaction rate of 0.03 seconds.

On the other hand, Ukeshe’s API enables users to promote and develop new financial opportunities. The platform gives users the chance to manage their finances and elevate business interactions.

According to the Chief Executive Officer Of Ukeshe — Clayton Hayward — the partnership will offer new opportunities to promote the growth and development of African payments systems. He said he is excited to be at the forefront of this wonderful collaboration.

“Our platform offers access to payment systems, products and services. There has been an unprecedented revolution in the digital sector and we cannot deny that. We are excited to collaborate with a company that shares the same goals and objectives with us — a company that wants to enhance the payment revolution in the African continent,” he said.

Mr. Hayward believes that the collaboration between his company and Chipper Cash will provide a wide range of opportunities for fintech service providers in the region.
