Nigerian Mobile Virtual Network Operator (MVNO) Vitel Wireless has announced its national network services.

The business said in a statement yesterday that it will begin releasing 50,000 SIM cards and eSIMs to a limited group of subscribers in all 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) today, providing millions of people with dependable, reasonably priced, and high-quality connection.

It claimed that this demonstrates its dedication to revolutionizing the telecom industry by offering both urban and rural people smooth and easily accessible mobile services.

It further stated that it will close the digital divide and promote inclusive growth by emphasizing innovation, affordability, coverage, and customer happiness.

Vitel Wireless Airport Kiosks, authorized retail stores, and mobile kiosks that use Know Your Customer (KYC) authentication using NIMC’s new SIM-NIN telecommunications registration infrastructure will offer more than half of the initial release.

The remaining SIM cards will be given to subscribers for cutting-edge value-added services, such as location-based services like SecurMe and Push-MyLocation, Internet of Things (IoT) solutions, Safer Home AI camera systems (iSEEYOU), and employment performance monitoring apps like Oga-App. Before the full launch in Q2 2025, the firm can test its network, optimize its MTN roaming cooperation, and make improvements thanks to this initial deployment,” the statement read.

Kenneth Nwabueze, Executive Chairman, stated: “We are thrilled to introduce Vitel Wireless’ cutting-edge services to Nigeria, a thriving, dynamic nation with enormous potential. Our objective is to provide Nigerians with dependable connectivity so they may interact, communicate, and prosper in the digital era. We look forward to growing our services and having a good influence across the country; this launch is only the beginning.

The introduction of the eSIM which is a digital SIM card that is enhancing communication and helping companies engage with clients more effectively. For people and companies who want to enhance their voice conversations, eSIM is the future.

The eSIM is a tiny chip that is integrated inside a gadget, such as a smartphone or smartwatch, called an embedded SIM, or eSIM. It eliminates the requirement for a physical SIM card by enabling digital activation and management of cellular plans.
