Is your monitor getting some extra lights on the Corner or around the edges that look super weird?

Well, If yes, then this might be the case of Backlight bleeding. But wait. What Is Backlight bleeding?

Here, in this article, I’ll explain everything related to backlight bleeding, and at the end of this article, you will get to know everything about it.

What Is Backlight Bleeding?

You must have noticed that some of the monitors have unbalanced emerging backlights. This issue is called backlight bleeding.

Or, we can say that Backlight Bleeding is a manufacturing failure by which lights leak around the device screen in LCD, which affects user experience.

We can find Backlight Bleeding in many Smart TVs, PC monitors, and Smartphones based on LCD.

Similarly, We can find many different types of Backlight Bleeding in gadgets known by other names, i.e., IPS Glow, Clouding, Burn-In.

Or, simply, we can say that Backlight Bleeding is a manufacturing failure by which lights leak around the device screen in LCD, which affects user experience.

We can find Backlight Bleeding in many Smart TVs and Smartphones based on LCD. It can be normal in these types of gadgets.

Similarly, We can find many different types of Backlight Bleeding in gadgets known by different names, i.e., IPS Glow, Clouding, Burn-In.

How to Fix Backlight Bleeding?

No, you can’t fix it easily. In some cases, Backlight Bleeding can be fixed. 

But, in most cases, backlight bleeding can not be remedied. As these are manufacturing defects and can’t be remedied easily.

Is Backlight Bleeding normal?

In most of the LCDs, you can found this issue faced by several people. If you have backlight bleeding, which is not too much highlighted, then it is normal as it can’t affect you much.

Is Backlight Bleeding a Defect?

Yes, these are manufacturing defects that can not be easily Fixed. In LCDs it contains internal backlights which provide lights to the screen, but, in some parts (edges) of the screen, small white light remains, due to which Backlight Bleeding occurs. But, you can replace your device under warranty with a new one or by replacing your screen folders.

Similar Issues Related To Backlight Bleeding?

Backlight bleeding has been named differently based on their conditions.

#1. IPS Glow

It can usually be found on IPS panels, which occurred in certain corners of the screen. IPS Glow is a kind of Glow that occurs in IPS Panel results in dark images emerging in certain angles.

It can be a type of Backlight Bleeding, but we can say it as a Backlight Bleeding as Backlight Bleeding occurs in the edges of the screen, and IPS Glow usually occurs on the Corner of the screen.

But, similarities between them are the same as they both can’t be easily fixed as they are manufacturing failures.

To prevent yourself from having excessive IPS Glow from these manufacturing failures items, you must always select the best quality of devices.

#2. Burn-In

Burn-In is another similar issue people consider as a Backlight Bleeding but, it is not a backlight bleeding. As we already mentioned, what is Backlight Bleeding?

Burn-In or Image Presentence means certain images that have been displayed on the screen for some time which affects users’ experience.

Burn-In is irritating at some point as many people generally disappoint due to this issue.

It comes suddenly when you are viewing anything on your screen. Some images come to your screen for a long time which removes themselves after some time and again comes after some time no matter what you were viewing.

To prevent your screen from Burn-In, you can reset your display or try to reboot first. After rebooting, if you Faced the same issue then, you must go to service centres.

#3. Clouding

Clouding is another common issue similar to backlight bleeding, in which you find spotty pattern lights, which shine on your monitor. The most common reason for clouding is the pressure by which it occurs. Whenever pressure is exerted for a long period in some part of your monitor, it creates clouding. It can be considered as Physical damage.

To prevent your monitor from clouding, you only need to take care of your monitor by not pressuring or tapping into it. In some cases, if your screen is clouding then, it can be fixed only by replacing the screen.
