Soon, WhatsApp will make it simpler to display message answers as organised threads. And with this WhatsApp is introducing a new tool that lets users use artificial intelligence (AI) to create their own chat wallpapers. Users can build their own chat backgrounds using prompts after switching to the most recent version of WhatsApp for iOS. They can then make any necessary modifications before setting it as their chat wallpaper. Beta testers can also use the Meta AI-powered functionality on WhatsApp for Android. Other capabilities, such as the ability to view message answers as an organized thread, are also being developed for the messaging platform.
Some users will see a new Create with AI option after going to Settings > Chats > Default chat theme > Chat theme after updating to WhatsApp for iOS 25.19.75 through the App Store. WABetaInfo, a feature tracker, discovered the feature, which is now gradually making its way to users via the stable update channel and are now progressively getting access to it. The feature has been successfully tested on the beta version of WhatsApp for Android, despite some users reporting issues accessing it on the most recent iOS version. The Gadget 320 team made an attempt to test the functionality after switching to a recent beta version of WhatsApp for Android, however they couldn’t access the feature on the most recent version of WhatsApp for iOS.
When the new Create with AI option is available on WhatsApp for iOS or Android, users can choose to open a pop-up card with a text field where they must stimulate the image creator. Following a short processing period, Meta AI uses the user’s input to produce many visuals. Users can browse to explore the many options of AI-generated photos that Meta AI will show them after a few seconds by swiping on the bottom previews.
By selecting the “Make changes” button at the bottom of the screen, users can also choose to make changes and have the wallpaper updated according to the prompt. When dark mode is set, WhatsApp will allow users to drag a slider to alter the brightness level and move the wallpaper to their preferred location before hitting the Set button to make it final.
The features of the app seems to be functioning as the feature tracker indicates, according to Gadgets 360’s testing on WhatsApp for Android beta 2.25.207. Though it occasionally disregards orders to use specific colours or include specific features, the AI generator produces graphics that are generated depending on the user’s suggestion.
The Development of Threaded Message Replies on WhatsApp, which is another new feature that will show message replies as an organized thread was also seen being developed by WhatsApp. The goal of this feature, which is currently in development, will improve the user experience while viewing replies in a chat and assist users in keeping track of talks. Similar to features already present in other messaging programs like iMessage, users will be able to follow conversations more efficiently by grouping replies into threads.
According to the feature tracker, this functionality is presently being developed and should eventually be made available to beta testers on WhatsApp for iOS and Android. The option to display message answers as a thread is currently available in apps like iMessage, and a future upgrade to WhatsApp may provide the same feature.
In the future, both iOS and Android beta testers should be able to use the threaded replies feature. Its exact release date is still unknown because it is currently in development. Nevertheless, the implementation of this feature might greatly enhance the way users engage with WhatsApp discussions, offering a more structured and intuitive experience.
