WhatsApp provides two auto-download options: SD (Standard) and HD (High Definition), as shown in the screenshot below. HD is an option for those who have enough room on their phone. Additionally, the SD option is available to individuals with a lot of storage capacity.
Users should be able to locate the function by going to the WhatsApp settings menu and selecting Storage and data > Auto-download quality when it is finally made available to beta testers. You can select between Standard and HD quality via a pop-up menu.
