WhatsApp adds new privacy feature to hide 'Last Seen' from pre-selected contacts - Ripples Nigeria

Popular instant messaging service, WhatsApp has now given users more control and ability with the addition of a new privacy feature. What makes this feature so unique is that it would help users hide ‘Last Seen’ from pre-selected contacts. WABetaInfo, recently spotted and reported the new feature

One of the numerous advantages the new privacy feature will grant WhatsApp users is more control over their privacy.  With the introduction of a fourth option to filter ‘Last Seen’ viewers, users have more control.

Before the new update became a thing, users were only provided with three options by the instant messaging service on who views their ‘Last Seen’ status. These options were everyone, contacts only, or no one.

With the introduction of the new feature on WhatsApp iOS beta version 22.9.0.70, users can now make a selection from the ‘My Contacts except’ option when they choose to conceal their online activity from a pre-selected person. However, be reminded that adding an individual to that list also prevents you from seeing their status.

The new updates rolled out just a few days after the community feature was introduced to Whatsapp users seeking to host private communities with more coordinated control over its administration.

Reports say WhatsApp is rolling out more plans on implementing more granular privacy controls for both profile photos and about sections. With the feature now in beta testing on both Android and iOS, it is likely it won’t take long to be officially available to all WhatsApp users globally.
