WhatsApp for iOS Gets Message Reminder Feature

WhatsApp began testing a feature that would allow users to set reminders for incoming messages a few weeks ago. The service function is now operational.

This new feature that enables users to set message notification reminders has been added to WhatsApp for iOS through the App Store. This feature will provide reminders about crucial details and assignments within chats, which can be seen at a later time rather than being obscured by later discussions. According to a WhatsApp feature tracker, the “notification reminders for messages” function is now only accessible to a small number of WhatsApp for iOS users, but it is anticipated to expand to more users in the upcoming weeks. A similar function for Android users was recently tested by the chat platform owned by Meta.

Some WhatsApp users currently have access to the “notification reminders for messages” function on WhatsApp for iOS version 25.25.74, and more users are anticipated to get it in the upcoming weeks, according to WhatsApp tracking portal WABetaInfo. After installing the most recent version of WhatsApp for iOS, which was made available on Tuesday, a team of reporter were able to verify that the feature was active and also in operation.

This is how it operates. The custom or preset timers that run from one minute to a day and this is aimed in order to prevent forgetting to respond to a text message, various users employ different strategies. Like me, you most likely don’t read them until you have a chance to reply. However, occasionally, some crucial messages may get lost in the shuffle.

Users may schedule notifications for individual messages so they can review material later with the new message reminder tool, which lets users set reminders for messages in groups and chats. This guarantees that important information and tasks in a conversation stay highlighted rather than becoming lost in the chat.

WhatsApp recently implemented a “Remind me” feature that lets users create notifications for particular text messages (via WABetaInfo). Preset choices or a custom timer with a duration of one minute to twenty-four hours are available to users.

This function is applicable to both individual and group talks, and it allows you to cancel a timer once it has been set.

Instead of receiving a brand-new message when a planned reminder is triggered, the user gets a notice that looks like a new text message but with the tag ” Reminder” to let them know it’s one they requested to reappear.

Lastly, according to Meta, reminders are private, so when you set one, nobody else in the chat will be aware of it.

Recently, WhatsApp also tested a similar feature for Android users that allows it users to create reminders for messages they have already read on Android devices. Users could choose a custom time for each message or choose from pre-selected times in the Android beta version 2.25.21.14. To ensure a uniform experience on both platforms, the business is apparently moving these Android notification reminders to iOS.

It not know yet if this works or has a similar feature like the normal phone alarm when it is set to wake you up after a long or short nap or from a deep sleep.
