Message drafts, a long-awaited feature, have been added to WhatsApp. Users can keep track of unsent messages they may have typed but forgotten to send thanks to this new feature, which was unveiled this week. One of those improvements that makes you ask, “Why wasn’t this available earlier?”
The partially finished messages will now be saved by the Meta-owned messaging service and will be identified by a vivid green “Draft” sign. Additionally, they will be moved up the conversation list, which will act as a helpful reminder to finish and submit the text if necessary.
The message drafts were WhatsApp’s most notable “I can’t believe this wasn’t already there” feature this week. WhatsApp now alerts you when you have unsent messages in chats so you can remember to reply to them later.
WhatsApp now displays the chat with a strong green label that reads “Draft,” followed by the text that hasn’t been delivered, when you start typing a message but don’t send it. You will never inadvertently forget the messages you were about to send thanks to this function.
When you begin writing a message, a green, bold “Draft” word will appear after what you’ve typed up to alert you to a draft. In this manner, you might consider finishing it when you launch the app and avoid unintentionally ignoring your friends (though I suppose you could still do that on purpose).
WhatsApp recently added several helpful new features, like its own built-in address book and custom lists to organize your chats, and announced in July that it had reached 100 million monthly active users.
Conversations containing unsent drafts will be automatically ranked at the top of your list of conversations, thus simplifying the user experience. This saves you from having to keep scrolling to find where you left off. This update serves as a clear reminder to review your message, regardless of whether it’s a casual discussion or an essential memo you haven’t finished.
The new drafts functionality is now accessible to all users and appears to be going out internationally.
With more than 100 million monthly active users worldwide, WhatsApp keeps adding new features to its toolbox. Other recent additions to the app include personalized chat lists and an integrated address book for better discussion organization. These improvements strengthen WhatsApp’s standing as a flexible communication platform that changes to meet its customers’ changing demands.
WhatsApp has previously preserved some partially written chat messages, but these were sporadic and it wasn’t guaranteed that the text would be there when the user returned to the chat session. Some chose to write longer messages in other places, like their Notes app, and then copy and paste them when they were ready to send.
On the other hand, Message Drafts will make sure that a message that is still unfinished is positioned under any other pinned chats and toward the top of the chat session.
Users worldwide can access this function on both iOS and Android devices.
