WhatsApp users globally should soon have access to the same music catalogue that Instagram users do. WhatsApp’s new music function, like Instagram’s, allows users to select songs of their choice for their status. It is presently available to WhatsApp beta testers who have installed the Android 2.25.2.5 update, and it may eventually be made available to all Android users. The function intends to make status updates more entertaining and interactive, akin to Instagram’s music story sharing feature.
WABetaInfo also says that the WhatsApp beta for iOS 25.1.10.73 version has the same capability for iOS users. After installing the most recent testing version, select WhatsApp iOS beta program participants will have access to this feature.
The current update includes a music icon in the status update area. By touching this button, users can find their favourite songs, artists, or trending music.
