WhatsApp has used the TestFlight program to deploy a new beta update for iOS, number 25.28.10.72 has it is testing a new feature for its iOS app that attempts to improve the ease of posting status updates. The instant messaging app Whatsapp which is owned by Meta is developing additional quick sharing features for status updates, according to information provided by a feature tracker. These should make it possible for the user to swiftly share status changes with others without having to go through an additional interface. The feature was previously observed in WhatsApp for Android development.

This new features in test phase means that users can now instantly publish their Facebook and Instagram status updates straight from the app thanks to a new feature in the update.

By making status sharing easier to use and more accessible, WhatsApp hopes to enhance user experience and engagement across all of Meta’s platforms.

WABetaInfo, a feature tracker, claims that new code discovered in the most recent WhatsApp beta for iOS indicates that the app is developing a new feature for posting status updates quickly. It was found when the company recently published the WhatsApp beta for iOS version 25.28.10.72. Despite not being accessible at the moment, it is reportedly being developed and may be included in a later app update.

WhatsApp will update the status updates page’s interface, making it more visually appealing similar to its Instagram counterpart, according to the screenshot that the feature tracker shared. A view count will be displayed to users in the lower-left corner of the screen. More of a change is anticipated with the inclusion of two new rapid sharing options for Facebook and Instagram, two other apps owned by Meta.

The Android version of WhatsApp already has a comparable feature to the new status sharing feature for iOS beta testers.

Users may now share their updates with just a single tap thanks to the addition of Facebook and Instagram quick-share icons at the bottom of the status screen.

Cross-posting status changes across the above stated social networking platforms will be a breeze with the additional choices.

Users will continue to have choice over where their status updates are shared, according to the feature tracker. On Facebook, Instagram, or both, they can decide to manually post each time. In other words, posting an update on Facebook won’t necessarily result in its immediate distribution on Facebook, and vice versa.

For users to take advantage of the new feature, they might need to link their WhatsApp account to the Meta Accounts Centre. In essence, it acts as a centralised hub that controls the connections amongst Meta’s apps.

The new status update quick sharing features are reportedly still in the development stage and will only be accessible to beta testers who have registered through Apple’s TestFlight program, according to WABetaInfo. In the upcoming weeks, it may be made available to a larger public for testing.

WhatsApp has updated its status screen to seem more like Instagram Stories in addition to the new sharing possibilities.

Users who are used to Instagram’s layout will find it more familiar as the view count for each status update is now displayed on the left side of the screen.

Regardless of these modifications, users retain total flexibility over whether they wish to post their status updates on Facebook, Instagram, or both sites independently.

Users may need to connect their WhatsApp account to Meta’s Accounts Centre in order to utilise the new rapid sharing features.

Users may control connected experiences on Facebook, Instagram, and WhatsApp using this unified hub.

It’s important to remember, though, that the user has complete control over whether or not to link WhatsApp to Accounts Centre.

Users may need to connect their WhatsApp account to Meta’s Accounts Centre in order to utilise the new quick sharing features.

Facebook, Instagram, and WhatsApp users may manage their connected experiences from this unified hub.

It is important to note that the user has the choice to enable or disable the Accounts Centre connection for WhatsApp at any moment.
