Everyone familiar with the ‘Delete for Everyone’ option from WhatsApp can say one way or the other how that feature has saved from the embarrassment of accidentally sending a wrong message. According to a recent report by WaBetaInfo, the ‘Delete for Everyone’ feature is expected to receive some changes. The changes expected change would be for the extension of the time limit for the feature. In 2017 the ‘Delete for Everyone’ feature was introduced to WhatsApp. The feature has been identified as one of the most useful and important features users have received.

According to the messaging service, the features have saved numerous users from so much embarrassment. Initially, when the tech giant released this feature a time limit of seven minutes was released with it, after a few months the same feature was increased to more than an hour. According to screenshots shared by WABetaInfo, the time limit of this feature is expected to increase to an indefinite period. The new time limit increase was spotted in WhatsApp’s v2.21.23.1 Android beta version.

According to the cited source, it advises that users should not get excited about this new update just yet as the efforts are still in motion to develop the feature and will be inaccessible until after trial by beta testers. The mobile application which was first released in February 2009 boasts of over 2 billion users worldwide ahead of its close rival and competition – Telegram which recently celebrated a one billion mobile device installation milestone. The mobile application by Facebook now rebranded Meta allows users to send text messages, voice notes, make voice and video calls, share images, documents, user locations, and other exciting friendly services. The messaging service, as well as other social platforms by Meta, were reported to experience a worldwide outage for several hours due to undisclosed reasons,

As of now, WhatsApp users still have access to only one hour to delete wrong messages and once a message is deleted, the app displays the usual notification in the chat window that reads, “This message was deleted.” Although several tutorials are available online today, that discuss methods to check WhatsApp deleted messages. Recently the instant messaging application –WhatsApp Messenger was reported to be allegedly working on a ‘Community’ feature. Speculations were that the Community feature could possibly share similarities with Facebook Group.

Further, WABetaInfo discloses that the iOS version of the messaging platform will be getting a new video playback interface. With this, users will have the ability to close the Picture-in-Picture (PiP) window or pause or play the video on full screen. This feature is also said to be currently available for a few people using the v2.21.220.15 iOS beta version of the app. Though the cited source didn’t disclose when exactly these features would be released to the public but these features are perceived as a big deal and are expected to roll out for various platforms soon.
