Microsoft’s Windows 11 Now Previews MS Office, Stills Testing The OS

...Office and its sub-apps are expected to have rounded corners

Still focusing on Microsoft’s latest flagship operating system, Windows 11 — the preview version of this OS was released earlier for insiders within the software company. At the time, this preview was limited with few vital features, including Windows store, taskbar, startup menu, etc. Still, young schoolers have gone a long way to integrate Windows 11 OS smartphones.

This preview that has been testing its vulnerabilities didn’t include Office until today. Remember, Microsoft has hinted about tweaking MS Office and prior to Windows 11 release, the software company confirmed Office UI will be redesigned according to its OS concept.

It worth noting that other similar apps within Office, include, Excel, Outlook, Word, and PowerPoint will also be tweaked as well. Noticeably, the Office ribbon bar looks rounded — aside from that, the software company once noted Office will specifically tweak its command bar rather than let the regular ribbon take all the glory with its regular interface.

Microsoft’s concept of modifying its Office UI depicts the nearest future will no longer have the regular ribbon interface featured in its Office UI. While the software company works on ditching the ribbon interface, its ribbon is expected to be replaced with a command toolbar that floats nearby highlights awaiting further commands.

The changes you are witnessing on Windows 11 are expected to take less than two years to be fully developed — the desktop platform will be the first to use this OS as it overhauls gradually. While the internet version for both desktop and mobile will access Windows 11 Office before it rolls out by Microsoft’s schedule.

To preview the Windows OS you are required to member Microsoft’s Insider Program which gives updates about the software company’s intent — this toggle is also in your Windows 10 Office settings. The megaphone icon will be visible at the top of your Office app, that’s the spot to toggle for UI updates.

It worth noting that this preview update is available for users on Windows 10 & 11 — speaking about users, I wonder what Bingxing Wang, Gustave Monce, and the rest of his engineering friends will do with Windows 11 before it fully develops.

However, Office is still in preview, it will be available after Microsoft releases Windows 11 — before, the year runs out, both the OS and Office tools will be available for users.
