Women in DeFi Marks 3 Years of African Education Impact

This year marks the third anniversary of the community that Sarah Idahosa started, Women in Decentralized Finance. The organization has been working to empower women in the fields of blockchain technology and decentralized finance (DeFi) for the past three years. Women in DeFi has led the charge in giving women the community, resources, and education they need to succeed in Web3 since its founding in 2022. The group has impacted over 3,000 women in Africa by providing them with the tools they need to thrive in a typically male-dominated field. .

Women in DeFi’s founder and driving force said, “I founded Women in DeFi to change that women have been neglected in the world of blockchain and decentralized financial spaces for a while now.” She went on to say that this occasion would serve as a catalyst for the development of a movement led by women who would open the door for decentralized finance in the future. The goal of Women in DeFi has consistently been to provide women with the resources they need to be successful in decentralized finance, help them comprehend the intricacies of blockchain technology, and allow them to use their existing Web2 talents in the rapidly evolving Web3 environs 

The goal of Sarah Idahosa’s work with women in DeFi has been to reduce the gender disparity in the blockchain industry. In addition to successfully incorporating Web3 technology into their employment, more than 30% of Women in DeFi members have already started their own blockchain enterprises. Idahosa’s work with Women in DeFi is just one aspect of her enthusiasm for financial inclusion. At MANSA, a fintech that uses stable coins to offer liquidity solutions for financial institutions in emerging regions, she serves as the Partnerships Manager.

With future events like The Women in DeFi Summit, which will be hosted yearly to unite women in web3 and highlight women’s advancement in the field, Women in DeFi hopes to further broaden its impact. putting together hackathons to assist participants in showcasing their skills and drawing in funding prospects. Expanding the scope of their educational initiatives by adding more live and virtual courses to expose women to the most cutting-edge applications of blockchain technology in other African nations. collaborating with leading Web3 groups to give local women direct access to high-growth blockchain businesses. 

As Women in DeFi celebrates this incredible milestone, the organization invites women from diverse industries to join their supportive community. Whether you are looking to learn, network, or build, Women in DeFi offers a platform where women can thrive in the world of decentralized finance.

Bridging the separation between Web2 and Web3 ecosystems, Women in The DeFi has been at the forefront of giving women the community, resources, and education they need to succeed in Web3 since its founding in 2022. With its rapid growth, the group now serves over 3,000 women throughout Africa and gives them the tools they need to thrive in a historically male-dominated field.

Since DeFi’s founding, women have made remarkable progress, including over 3,000 African women being trained in blockchain and DeFi technology. Holding a number of educational events with notable people from the web3, blockchain, and decentralized finance sectors, such as webinars and workshops, to give participants practical exposure and opportunities, partnerships are being formed with important blockchain ecosystem organizations like Propel, StarkNet Africa, Base Africa, and Cassava Network.

With outreach and partnerships in nations including Nigeria, Kenya, and Ghana, the organization is growing its global footprint and establishing itself as a global network of women leading the financial industry’s future. 

Every year, the Women in DeFi Summit will bring together women in web3 and highlight their advancements in the field, putting together hackathons to assist participants in showcasing their skills and drawing in investment opportunities collaborations with leading Web3 groups that give local women direct access to high-growth blockchain businesses.
