On Monday, Xtelify, a completely owned subsidiary of Airtel, introduced a telco-grade cloud platform for telecom companies. The cloud platform, known as Airtel Cloud, houses all of the telecom operator’s digital assets and features and was first created to meet its internal operational needs. 140 crore transactions are reportedly handled by it every minute. By using the Infrastructure-as-a-Service (IaaS) and Platform-as-a-Service (PaaS) models, Airtel is now extending the platform to other telecom service providers. The company also introduced a supplementary software platform driven by artificial intelligence (AI).
The Indian telecom provider revealed in a news release that Airtel Cloud is now available to other telecom companies. According to Airtel, it is a sovereign platform, which means it was developed entirely in India and has the capacity to process an astounding 140 crore transactions every minute. The platform is hosted on “sustainable” data centres, according to the business, which means that they can reuse resources like water for cooling the servers.
With built-in support for AI/ML operations, Airtel asserts that its cloud platform can handle sophisticated data and AI workloads. Furthermore, the business asserts that its PaaS and IaaS offerings are “extremely dependable and secure.” Additionally, it is said to provide Indian firms with up to 40% cloud spending optimisation. Scaling capabilities, reduced costs (which the firm does not specify when compared to which service), and the absence of vendor lock-ins are additional characteristics of the Airtel Cloud.
In addition to the cloud platform, Xtelify introduced AI-powered software that serves as an add-on layer to Airtel Cloud. With AI and automation at its core, it can be viewed as a modular Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) offering with a telecom focus. The software provides a convergent data engine that can combine information from many telecom systems and produce insights like average revenue per user (ARPU) forecast, network optimisation, and churn prediction.
The Xtelify software integrates an experience platform which may concentrate on customer lifecycle management and a workforce platform, which probably functions as a job management tool, into a single program.
The following functions are included in the software platform for telcos:
- A unified data engine for large-scale intelligence and insights powered by AI
- A workforce platform that streamlines tasks in real time
- A platform for managing all aspects of the client journey
Airtel said that three international collaborations have been secured by Xtelify for the recently launched platform. These international partners include Airtel Africa, which is fully owned and run by Bharti Airtel, Globe Telecom, based in the Philippines, and Singtel, based in Singapore.
The three international partnerships were negotiated by Xtelify for the recently established platform.
In partnership with Singtel, Xtelify will implement “Xtelify Work,” an enterprise-grade, plug-and-play transformative platform that will give Singtel’s field teams in Singapore AI-powered tools to increase productivity, such as fleet optimisation, automated task management, and real-time tracking and governance.
In the Philippines, Xtelify will introduce “Xtelify Serve,” a state-of-the-art, AI-powered customer support platform, in partnership with Globe Telecom. Through intelligent data-driven operations, streamlined business processes, and omni-channel service assurance, Globe Telecom will be able to improve its customer experience at scale.
Xtelify will supply its software platforms, including Data Engine, Work, and IQ, to Airtel Africa. The implementation of Xtelify Data Engine and Xtelify Work will enable vital use cases such as spam and fraud prevention for their clients throughout Africa and provide market data for micro-targeted tactics to Airtel Africa’s 150K-person field staff spread across 14 nations. Secure, real-time, omnichannel customer engagement will be made possible by Xtelify IQ, improving customer satisfaction and service quality.
As we offer our top-tier, in-house platforms of Airtel Cloud and software solutions to companies in India and telecoms worldwide, it is a very significant point in our history, according to Gopal Vittal, Vice Chairman and MD of Bharti Airtel. We are fortunate to have already established alliances with Singtel, Globe Telecom, and Airtel Africa, three prestigious businesses.
