Shooter Confirmed Dead After Shootout At YouTube Headquarters

The woman responsible for the shooting that happened at YouTube headquarters in San Bruno yesterday was confirmed dead. Before her death, she shot three persons who sustained injuries before she eventually took her own life, according to the authorities. “We did locate a victim with what we believe to be a self-inflicted gunshot wound. It’s a female, but the investigation is still ongoing before we can out the pieces together”, the San Bruno Police Chief, Ed Barberini said.

The authorities in charge of the investigations are yet to come with shreds of evidence to prove that the shooter specifically targeted the victims or whether it was merely coincidental. One of the victims was identified as the shooter’s estranged boyfriend.

Before the disaster, the police officers found a woman identifies as Nasim Aghdam asleep in a car in Mountain view. Her plate number matched the description of a missing person from Southern California. Nasim confirmed her identity and answered all the questions by the Police. However, when CBS called Nasim’s father to inform him of his daughter’s whereabouts, he confirmed that she had been missing for days and warned them of her anger with YouTube.

According to eyewitnesses, some which were staff members of YouTube, the suspect approached an outdoor patio at the office during lunch time and opened fire with a gun. This gave the people around a scare as many were seen with their hands raised, running for safety before the police officers arrived to find an unpleasant scene. The evacuees formed a queue and were eventually whisked away by the officers.

Some staff members at YouTube have tweeted about the scene. Zach Voorhies, a senior software engineer at YouTube, said, “I was programming when the fire alarm was pulled. I went outside with my electric skateboard, and I started skating down because I thought it was a fire. I heard some yelling, and I saw somebody down on his back with a red spot on his stomach.”

Another employee, Dianna Arnspiger tweeted, “She had something on her face, like glasses and, like a scarf. We heard boom boom! Everybody kinda looked and didn’t know what it was, and I ran to the window because the window behind me looks over the patio and I saw her. It was a woman. And she was firing her gun, and I just said shooter! And everybody started running.”

Apparently, the shooter is a Californian resident of Iranian descent who had often criticised the platform for filtering her posts. She accused them of discrimination. In one of her posts, she angrily wrote, “There is no equal growth opportunity on YouTube or any other sharing site. Your channel will grow if they want to.”
