Zoom Buys Kites, A Real-time Machine Translation Service

Karlsruhe Information Technology Solutions, Kites, is now a subsidiary to Zoom — according to the video conferencing company. Kite is well known for developing transcript software, and real-time translation. Integrating Zoom with Kites is an acquisition that will improve video calling, communication with different languages.

Zoom users who are familiar with diverse languages will find it simplified to communicate with its translation tool Kites — they will continuously tweak its transcript tech on Zoom.  However, the video conferencing app has utilize limited version of its transcript tools that is exclusive for its support platform — assisting users around the world with different languages.

Kites have reportedly used its tech within the Karlsruhe educational institution it originated from — translating languages while lectures are observed. For contrast, Kites’ technology has assisted several students to comprehend complex languages such as Spanish,  German, English, Italiano, etc. while studying in class.

Henceforth, Kites will expand its services from classrooms to the commercial communication industry — an additional tech for Zoom to rival its counterparts such as Google’s Meet, Apple’s FaceTime, Microsoft’s Teams, etc. 

While the video conferencing company endeavour to make it services match its customers taste, Zoom had made its pronoun features to revamped users profile just like other social media platforms have used pronouns to connect users, including,  LinkedIn, Instagram, Slack and many more.

Remember, the 2020 pandemic when Zoom made it worth noting that users could experience extensive call timing — this promotion lasted throughout the holiday season and ended March 2021.

Prior to this promo, Zoom reportedly encountered fortune with extra 355% annual revenue — at that time, the video conferencing company hinted about diversity in language development to bolster simplified communication.

Now Zoom has been added to the list of acquisitions integrating its tech to bolster productivity.
