According to reports, Apple has struck a deal worth billions of dollars with OpenAI, the company that makes ChatGPT. The tech giant has been in a frenzy over the past few months to find a partner for its artificial intelligence (AI) capability requirements. It was reported that the company was in talks with OpenAI and Google; it looks like OpenAI has already finalized the agreement. It’s anticipated that Apple will announce the partnership on June 10 at its Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) 2024.
The details of the agreements are now unknown, but once the relationship is formally revealed at the WWDC event, things should become clearer. Notably, this data supports a prior report by Mark Gurman of Bloomberg that stated Apple and OpenAI were collaborating to incorporate ChatGPT into iOS 18.
