Bitcoin Hits The $9,000 Mark Just A Week After Its Historic $8,000 Milestone

What an amazing weekend in the cryptocurrency market as the value of bitcoin skyrocket and hit the $9000 (3.3million naira) mark for the first time in the cryptocurrency history.

According to data from digital currency, the price of bitcoin moved passed the $9,000 on Saturday night and sits at 9,139 early today, an increase of over 4.28 per cent. Bitcoin’s market capitalization is now almost $153 billion.

For the first time in the cryptocurrency history, bitcoin has experienced a massive run in 2017. January this year, bitcoin was priced under $1,000, despite the coin value has dropped countless of times , and also got through volatile, it still rose and hit the $9,000 mark for the first time in history.

Hedge fund manager Mike Novogratz predicted earlier this week that the cryptocurrency bitcoin will hit the $10,000 mark by the end of this year and according to Bloomberg, Thomas Lee of Fundstatz doubled his price target to $11,500 by middle of 2018.

This news comes about a week after the cryptocurrency hit the $8,000 mark making it more appealing to some investors even as others like JP Morgan’s James Dimon thinks the currency is just having a bubble which could blow up in all our faces anytime.
