The past few weeks have been both busy and controversial for Twitter. On Monday, the company accepted Elon Musk’s $44 billion buyout deal after adopting a limited duration shareholder rights plan, popularly referred to as the “poison pill” to prevent a hostile takeover of the company.

Jack Dorsey who no longer heads Twitter as CEO and is focusing on his payments company Block, seems to have been in support of the Elon Musk buyout since the billionaire acquired the largest stake in the company and declared his intention to buy Twitter.

Over the past few weeks, several tweets by Jack Dorsey showed that the former CEO didn’t mind a takeover of Twitter by Elon Musk. One of his tweets mentioned that Twitter has always been up for sale.

as a public company, twitter has always been "for sale." that's the real issue.

Another tweet of his mentioned that Twitter’s board has “consistently been the dysfunction of the company.” This shows support for Elon Musk who said that Twitter’s Board will receive no compensation for serving on the board in his administration.

Earlier this month, he tweeted that “I’m really happy Elon is joining the Twitter board! He cares deeply about our world and Twitter’s role in it…”

A new tweet he shared on Tuesday showed that Jack Dorsey agrees with the takeover of his brainchild by Elon Musk. He posted a link to Radiohead’s song titled “Everything In Its Right Place” and shared that Elon Musk is the “singular solution I trust” to run Twitter. “I trust his mission to extend the light of consciousness,” he said.

Elon’s goal of creating a platform that is “maximally trusted and broadly inclusive” is the right one. This is also @paraga’s goal, and why I chose him. Thank you both for getting the company out of an impossible situation. This is the right path…I believe it with all my heart.

Twitter’s acceptance of Elon Musk’s bid has raised concerns from several parties. For example, various human rights groups have come up to shed light on the possibility of hate speech thriving on Twitter all in the name of “free speech” which is the agenda that Elon Musk is pushing. “The last thing we need is a Twitter that willfully turns a blind eye to violent and abusive speech against users, particularly those most disproportionately impacted, including women, non-binary persons, and others,” Michael Kleinman, the director of technology and human rights at Amnesty International USA said on Monday.
