The Kenyan Presidential Digital Talent Program for its indigenous population has reportedly sealed the MoU deal between ICT Authority and Oracle to tutor graduates in technology solutions and cloud computing systems. The Kenyan government sponsors the digital talent hunt which serves as the first of its kinda — a government-sponsored ICT training for further technology inclusion.

On the other hand, the Kenyan government set to pioneer cloud computing innovation in its technology ecosystem. The Presidential Digital Talent Program pose as an internship for Kenyan graduates to develop their technical skills as well as develop the national digital sector. The Kenyan government announced the ICT internship program during the Connected Kenya 2022 Summit, that kicked off in Diani.

ICT Authority and Oracle will tutor trainees participating in the Presidential Digital Program intend to discover talented Kenyans who will be equipped with high-end ICT skillset. The cloud computing company, Oracle will handle imbibing innovative digital literacy in ICT-based graduates to expand the Kenyan ecosystem of certified technology practitioners.

ICT Authority CEO, Dr. Ronoh supports the consortium the Kenyan government organized to feature Oracle cloud computing systems to empower the Kenyan youth community “with specialized skills; know-how and a platform to innovate with world-class solutions while supporting the ongoing transformation of our country alongside the Big 4 Agenda. The digital revolution is characterized by the emergence of new digital skills in fields like artificial intelligence, big data, cloud computing, and mobile robotics. Our youth will have the opportunity with these new skill sets to influence people’s lives in Kenya.”

The Presidential Digital Talent Program is a consortium of both the socialist and capitalist technology sectors endorsing ICT internship programs for the Kenyan youth — specifically orchestrated for ICT-inclined graduates. The Presidential ICT internship program is designed to provide digital inclusion durable within a three-year timeline.

According to the Kenyan Presidential Digital Talent Program, Oracle and ICT Authority will tutor ninety trainees with an ICT certification inclusive to award cloud computing expertise, and other beneficial ICT-based resources will be awarded to trainees. The Presidential Digital Internship also serves as an employment strategy for the learned cloud-computing practitioners.

For context, the entire ninety trainees could be selected for further entrepreneurship endorsements under the Whitebox Project that is schemed to aid the Kenyan-based startup developers.

Oracle Kenya Country Leader, David Bunei also shared support that aligns with ICTA’s CEO in pushing the government-endorsed digital internship programs paired with Oracle’s cloud-based technology solutions to accelerate the Kenyan digital economy suitable for both socialist and capitalist organizations.

Bunei said all the players of the Kenyan socio-economic sector will be beneficiaries of the latest cloud computing technology innovation established by the government to bolster digital inclusion. “we need to ensure we have a strong local talent pool to meet industry demands. Investing in the skills of the youth today is vital for the successful growth of the information technology industry in Kenya.”

Bunei continued to show off the technology impact Oracle will imbibe on the trainees. It is a no-brainer that the cloud computing veteran will focus on educating Kenyan youths on cyber intelligence. “This program will ensure that students are equipped with the right skills for the fourth industrial revolution. This 12-week in-depth training and information sharing program will focus on emerging and cloud technologies and various personal career mentorship streams.”

The ICT Authority hosted the 2022 summit connecting the Kenyan youth population — specifically training technology inclined youths with the least BSc degree in ICT. In sum, the ICT Authority organized the digital internships program to discover untold digital talent in Kenya. The ICT Authority pitched the digital initiative to gain the Kenyan government’s support for prospective digital inclusion.

Oracle will focus on expanding the Kenyan IT sector with professional tutors from its cloud computing systems. Oracle’s role in the internship program is dedicated to developing startups into matured entrepreneurs that tallies with the strategic vision 2030 digital innovation accelerator.
