Microsoft is set to launch Windows 11 officially on Oct. 5th as a free upgrade. Windows 11 comes with updated features like a redesigned start menu, Teams integration, Windows Widgets, improved gestures on Tablets, support or Android apps (will rollout later after October 5th), among others. As it did with Windows 10 and 7 when it was first launched, Windows 11 will be offer a upgrade.
Minimum requirements to be able to install this update include: having a 64-bit CPU, 4GB or more of RAM and 64GB or more of built-in storage, also having a Microsoft account too.
If one uses another workaround such as a ISO method to install the new Windows 11, the result is being registered as an unsupported Windows 11 PC, and the PC won’t be able to access either Windows or Security updates.
Aaron Woodman, General Manager of Windows marketing at Microsoft, says: “following the tremendous learnings from Windows 10, we want to make sure we’re providing you with the best possible experience. We expect all eligible devices to be offered the free upgrade to Windows 11 by mid-2022.
Windows will send an update notification to a user when their PC is ready to install the update. The other route is to check for Windows update through a PC’s settings.
