Sony Interactive Entertainment (SIE) earlier today announces the acquisition of Housemarque. Sony Interactive Entertainment is responsible for the PlayStation brand. Housemarque is a leading game developer that has partnered with the Sony Interactive Entertaiment. This partnershsip has been responsible for the development of eight titles exclusive to PlayStation® consoles including Returnal, Nex Machina and Alienation. Today the acquisition was announced and this comes with the aim of providing world-classs gaming experiences to game-lovers all around the world. Housemarque will will be the 13th studio to join global development operation of PlayStation Studios.

For a very long time, PlayStation has delivered innovation to the world since the launch of the original PlayStation in 1994. Other PlayStation products that has emerged include PlayStation®5, PlayStation®4, PlayStation®VR, PlayStation™Store, PlayStation®Plus, PlayStation™Now, and acclaimed PlayStation software titles from PlayStation Studios.

We can’t wait to bring PlayStation fans more fresh, new experiences.

The day-to-day operations will continue to be run by Housemarque’s current management team in conjunction with PlayStation Studios External Development team.
