The NNRA Orchestrates A Bid For The Biggest 4000 MW Nuclear Power Plant in Nigeria.

The 4000 MW nuclear power plant might be state-sanctioned if the bid ends a success

In Africa, Nigeria leads other countries in terms of development. With West Africa as a touchpoint, the Nigerian economy has reportedly influenced continental economic growth and global recognition for breeding competent populations. Still, West African country faces minor setbacks with significant consequences.

The Nigerian Nuclear Regulatory Authority, NNRA, schemes a soluble means to curb the socio-economic setbacks tied to Nigeria’s development. The NNRA director-general, Dr. Yau Idris, hosts a conference on electricity solutions in the federal capital territory of Nigeria. Idris themed the conference Nigerian International Energy Summit, NIES, currently meeting in Abuja.

The energy summit poses as an auction to bid for the construction of a nuclear power plant in Nigeria. Idris said that the summit is bidding for the construction of 4000 Megawatts nuclear power plant in Nigeria. The director-general of NNRA revealed the nuclear power plant will be the biggest in the Nigerian history of energy supply.

“There are mechanisms put in place that ensure any country can build a nuclear power plant. Nigeria is trying to deliver 4,000 MW of electricity through nuclear power.” Idris commented with enormous optimism that his agency is competent enough to debut and manage a federal power plant. “We are trying to construct four units and we are at the bidding stage.”

Nigeria currently runs on a 9000 MW power generation capacity nationwide — an additional 4000 MW nuclear power plant will bolster Nigeria’s generated power capacity.

Recall the Nigerian government has attempted to mix match its energy diversification since 1977. Idris has continued this campaign to have signed compacts with other European countries, such as France, Russia, Pakistan, etc. NNRA compact is for nuclear power plant installation.

The Nigerian government recently excluded their responsibility towards power generation and distribution enacted during the Tuesday senate verdict to remove federal interference for power transmission. Now every state is obliged to administer its power distribution and installation of the next 4000 MW nuclear power plant project.
