The WAEC Council Apprehended Website Administrators For WASSCE Leak

Website administrators often share dubious question & answers to gain traffic.

The African Examination Council (WAEC) publish a report about the previous ordinary-level examinations (o’level) or the West African Senior Secondary Certificate Examinations (WASSCE) that led to the discovery of leaked examination questions and answers, dubious information, and the censorship of websites that leaked confidential information.

During the West African Senior Secondary Certificate Examinations (WASSCE), several arrests were recorded that spooked the Head of National Office, Nigeria (HNO) Mr. Patrick Areghan to consider his second thought to lead investigations on the previous o’level examination about leaked examination questions & answers and dubious information.

“Candidates are already in the exam hall and you are posting the questions. Sometimes, they change the front of the questions and add 2023 for exam questions of 2020.” Areghan said, “Some gullible parents and students will go for it and destroy themselves because there is no way they can get our questions.”

According to Areghan’s report, several government-endorsed secondary schools, in general, took the fall for examination malpractice and misconduct. The HNO’s office also reported that website administrators leaked the dignity of the WASSCE examination which impacted the candidates’ misconduct and partisanship in malpractice.

Areghan said there’s “a regulation to release papers to supervisors one hour before commencement time to enable them to go from the collection point to the administrative point because of distance in some schools. But what they do is snap the question papers and send them to their syndicate groups. You now begin to ask questions about what they are trying to achieve with it.”

Areghan’s scripted his disappointment to have experienced the dignity of the WASSCE examination plummet by leaked examination questions and answers which denotes that the instigation of the examination malpractice and misconduct was an inside job.

For context, top examination supervisors with premium access to the WASSCE examination questions and answers are responsible for the information leak. However, candidates and apprehended website administrators are mere victims of the HNO’s office fury.

While the apprehended are charged with the law enforcement scolds with a taste of the HNO’s office fury, Areghan cautions the next set of WASSCE candidates to be less dependent on dubious websites sharing misinformation to gain traffic.
