Class 10th is an important standard in every student’s life. This is so because decisions relating to career streams are based on the performance and marks scored in the class 10th board examination. Pretty much that is also the aim of the pre-board examination- to make the student aware of the preparation level so that whatever hard work is so needed one can do it before the main board examination. It is also important to note that Boards numbers are needed in various job entrance exams and a few of the competitive exams. Choosing a career stream in the 11th class is also based on the 10th board so It is always advisable to work accordingly

To start your preparation on time is the most needed thing. It is so because no matter how good you are at grasping concepts or learning them, it is always essential to dedicate maximum time to revisions and solving different questions which can only happen if you start preparing for the exam on time. Getting started early will also ensure that you have aced every subject easily. Competition in the board exam is high and this is why you need to make sure that you do the best you can and take sufficient time for the same.

Here are a few suggestions that can guide you throughout your preparation sessions for the Science board

DO: Make handwritten notes

For science, you must go through a sufficient number of times through all the concepts. Handwritten notes are the best because as you write revision will take place simultaneously. Handwritten notes are also beneficial in revising. Every day you can have a quick revision session by only sparing a few minutes needed for it. It is best to keep the notes prepared by starting the studies on time so you have sufficient time for revision. Remain consistent from day 1 by just sparing half an hour every day for best results.

DO: Always trust NCERT

Already there is a huge pressure and stress related to the board examinations. One should not increase the workload by adding the work of searching for books and references. Going by the Recommendations of CBSE, NCERT is the best book for preparing and revising well. NCERT Class 10 Science Book PDF is the most reliable source. One should prefer picking up content for notes from the NCERT only. It is also a known fact that whosoever is thoroughly done with NCERT is able to answer even the most twisted and indirect questions in the Board exam. So, make sure you only prioritise NCERT when it comes to board exams

DO: Highlight the important topics of Science

There are many topics and sub-topics in Science. It is always helpful if one can mark the important topics that are crucial from the exam point of view. These topics can be the ones that have high marks, weightage or the topics from which a lot of questions are generally asked. Referring to previous year papers can help you mark these topics. While studying make sure you pay extra attention to such topics. No doubts should be left unexplained. This trick can help to score better marks easily just by focussing on the topics that are sure to become part of your board question paper. One should spare more time revising and practising questions more from the important topics.

DON’T: Overstudy

Studying too much can only make the situation worse. Students generally break down because of overstudying. Only the right balance can help you in scoring well in the exam. Understudy and over study both are futile. Also, if you over study you tend to forget things that you have learnt. The process of over studying starts if a student is too nervous or pressured to score high. To avoid over studying it is best to only study which is sufficient for the exam and focus more on revising. For board examination revisions and practice sessions can make a huge difference in the score so try to focus on these more.

DON’T: Study without a study plan

Study plans work as guiding strategies needed to reach the goal. With a good study plan, you will be able to enhance your level of performance every day. Study plans should also be formulated according to the important topics that have more chances of coming to the examination. Slots for clarifying doubts and for revision should be made. Overall, the idea of study plans is developing strategies that help the students to reach their outcomes that are essentially needed to be best prepared for till the exam time

DON’T: Misunderstand any topic

Self-study is excellent but one of the things to avoid is misunderstanding the topic. Sometimes students misunderstand the topic. It is always advisable to understand carefully the topics in the classroom taught by the teacher. Once you understand the topics well you can start relying on self-study. But for conceptual clarity and concepts building, it is best to make sure that you are thorough with all the topics. 10th board tests how much extensively a student has grasped the concepts so make sure that you give all concepts a good understanding

Conclusion

The list of DOs and DONTs can help you guide through all the preparation sessions. With these tips, you can make sure you score easily in the exams without any burden. Also always try to curate personalized timetables and worksheets so that it is easier for you to learn. Understand your personal success mantra, what works for you and what doesn’t and then accordingly proceed with all the study plans. Make sure you are not underestimating your potential or having a negative attitude toward studies and exams. Everything in life is easy if you are ready to invest your time and effort in it. The same goes for board examinations. Also, self motivate yourself to give your 100℅ in every subject. Wishing everyone the best of luck for the upcoming board examination.
