Google Adds Search Profiles For Publishers & Creators

A new feature called Search Profiles has been introduced by Google to help publishers and artists become more visible online. Publishers and producers can control their appearance in Google Search and Discover feeds with the most recent features. The writers’ most recent content and social media posts will be shown in the search profiles. Users must have a minimum number of subscribers or followers on at least one YouTube, Instagram, X, or TikTok platform in order to utilize this function, which is currently only available in the United States.

The launch of Search profiles was announced by Google in its most recent blog post. This specialized and shareable hub allows publishers and producers to display their most recent articles, videos, and social media postings. As previously said, this allows creators and publishers to control how they show up in Google Search and Discover.

In order to provide prominent digital creators and online publishers with direct control over how their own branding and content assets appear throughout Google Search and the customized Discover feed, Google has formally introduced Search profiles. These profiles function as a centralized and customizable landing page that integrates a creator’s cross-platform footprint into a single, officially verified place, initially only available to users in the United States.

Through Google Search knowledge panels, Discover, or a direct URL, mobile users can access the Search Profiles. Google claims that Search Profiles improve content visibility and make it easier for audiences to follow publishers and artists. Users can either build a new profile by connecting their social media accounts or claim an already-existing one that Google automatically created. Users have the option to personalize their profiles by adding an avatar, bio, website, social media accounts, video platforms, and other relevant content.

Search profiles can be created by creators and publishers who meet minimum follower requirements on platforms that are supported. To use this feature, users must have at least 1,000,000 followers on YouTube, Instagram, or X, or 3,000,000 followers on TikTok.

A Google knowledge panel may be created, according to Google, if a profile is claimed. If a person already has a knowledge panel, it will be improved with recent content, a new avatar, updated profile information, and a direct profile link.

Here is a guide on how a New Search Profile can be created

The procedures below can be used by interested users to create a new search profile:

  • Users can visit profile.google.com/claim.
  • Log into your Google account.
  • Log in to a minimum of one content platform account with the necessary number of followers.
  • Select “Create Profile.”

By visiting profile.google.com and logging into the Google Account associated with their creator activities, people can determine whether Google has already created a search profile before starting a new one. Google Search can also be used to verify this. To look for the profile, click More next to the knowledge panel and then select View Search Profile.

Search profiles will initially be accessible in the United States, according to Google. In the upcoming days, the business intends to spread the feature to other publishers and creators across regions and add more capabilities. The feature is accessible to creators who are at least eighteen years old.

The Google Search Central Blog’s technical material states that creating a search profile has no direct impact on organic keyword ranking algorithms. Instead, Google Discover provides the main gain in terms of traffic. The underlying algorithm changes when an audience member engages with a profile and clicks the integrated “Follow on Google” button, greatly increasing the likelihood that the creator’s upcoming posts, videos, and social media updates will show up directly in that user’s customized mobile Discover feed.
