LemFi — the electronic payment start-up company has rebranded its FinTech solutions to impact the African digital market and leverage the gap with international remittance. The FinTech start-up company was previously dubbed Lemonade Finance operating basic remittance and e-payment solutions between users based within the continent and overseas.

LemFi brings about versatility and in-app expansion that broadens its services that leverages its connection with diasporic users and other users based overseas. The rebranding report about the start-up FinTech was unveiled by the CEO, Ridwan Olalere who campaigned to have experienced innovation which is a reflection of Lemonade Finance’s experience in the African market.

The CEO said Lemonade Finance aspired to attain its current status that has international operations that allow users to send and receive designated fiat currencies per user discretion. The evolution of the Lemonade Finance operations tales the FinTech start-up chronicles that documented growth since the 2020 debut that eventually got the limelight as LemFi.

“We understand that many of you have a strong connection with our old name and brand identity. However, we believe that pursuing this new direction will help us stand out even more while continuing to deliver on our commitment to you. We are fortunate to have amazing customers, partners, and stakeholders who continue to trust and support us. We promise to keep you informed every step of the way.”

Olalere said that LemFi is the outcome of the innovation of its debut brand identity/moniker that has impacted the FinTech market which gives users the ideal simplicity to comprehend its status transition. Leading the African FinTech landscape is setting the pace for LemFi to continue leading the campaign that gives users access to their funds via the FinTech website.

“Our new name, LemFi, represents our unwavering dedication to breaking down barriers and transcending borders. It symbolizes the strength and resilience of our community and allows us to carve our unique meaning within it.” Olalere said the FinTech start-up “debuted with Lemonade Finance. And as our app gained popularity, our reach expanded across multiple countries, and we became the vital link between families and loved ones separated by distance,”

Founded in 2020 to help diaspora communities send money home, the company’s app now supports transfers to over 10 countries. As its user base and services grew across multiple markets, the leadership felt the original name no longer captured its ambition or essence.

Ridwan Olalere, CEO and co-founder, explained:

“The name we started with was Lemonade Finance. As our reach expanded, we became the vital link between families separated by distance. LemFi embodies the spirit of ‘No Borders, No Barriers, and no BS’—a simple, agile name that truly represents our vision.”

Precious Ama Kwartemaa Oduro, Country Manager for Ghana, added:

“We wanted something simple that helps us stand out as we deliver more features. The rebrand will reposition us not just for immigrants, but for everyone seeking seamless, accessible global payments.”

Regardless of the brand identity transition, LemFi retains its predecessor’s commitment to driving diasporic financial inclusion powered by its electronic money institution license, issued by British Financial Conduct Authority. The FinTech innovation impact gives the start-up company the eagerness to become globally recognized without regulatory restrictions carrying the RightCard Payment Service emblem.
