The release date of Resident Evil 2 for Apple devices is December 31. Players may take advantage of a free trial before making a complete purchase, according to publisher Capcom. This means that the limited part of the base game can be played for free, as the App Store page for the game states. “In order to play the full game, an in-app purchase is required.”

The App Store is already accepting pre-orders for the 2019 adaptation of the survival-horror classic. When Capcom revealed a port for Resident Evil 7: Biohazard earlier this year, it was confirmed that a remake of Resident Evil 2 was being developed for iPhone, iPad, and Mac platforms. It will be the fourth Resident Evil game to be released on Apple hardware.

According to Resident Evil 2’s App Store page, the game is anticipated to ship on December 31. The iPhone series i.e. iPhone 15 Pro, iPhone 15 Pro Max, iPhone 16 series, iPad, and MacBook devices with M1 or later chipsets will all be able to play the remake. Users will need to pay an in-app purchase in order to access the complete game, while an early version will be free to play.

The game will be playable on compatible Apple devices after purchase thanks to Resident Evil 2’s support for Universal Purchase. On the other hand, the App Store listing affirms that save data cannot be moved between iOS and macOS devices. The Resident Evil 2 remake will require about 31GB of storage. It’s also important to remember that the installation procedure will need that the device have at least twice as much free storage as the program. Although the iPad and iPhone can play the game with touch controls, Apple suggests a controller for a more enjoyable experience.

The development of Resident Evil 2 on Apple devices was disclosed in June. As part of Apple’s effort to bring more triple-A titles to its platforms, Capcom has so far published Resident Evil 4, Resident Evil: Village, and Resident Evil 7: Biohazard for iOS, iPadOS, and macOS. Along with the games from Capcom’s renowned survival-horror series, Ubisoft’s Assassin’s Creed Mirage and Hideo Kojima’s Death Stranding have also been released for the iPhone, iPad, and Mac.

However, it has been stated that the sales of these triple-A console games on Apple’s platform have been disappointing. According to a June report by mobilegamer.biz, 3,570,000 copies of the Resident Evil 4 remake were installed on iPhones, but only about 7,000 of those users paid to play the entire game.

Capcom announced in July that Koshi Nakanishi, the director of Resident Evil 7: Biohazard, will be leading the development of the next Resident Evil game.

In 2002, Paul W. S. Anderson wrote and directed the action horror movie Resident Evil. Starring in the movie are Colin Salmon, Martin Crewes, James Purefoy, Eric Mabius, Michelle Rodriguez, and Milla Jovovich. It is the first film in the Resident Evil movie series, which is based in part on the Resident Evil video game franchise. The movie, which takes inspiration from the video games Resident Evil and Resident Evil 2, centres on Alice, a heroine with amnesia, and a group of Umbrella Corporation commandos as they try to stop the T-virus epidemic in a covert subterranean facility.
