Samsung’s Galaxy Event August 2026 starts today, and the company is preparing to add another device to the Galaxy S26 family.
Samsung’s official invitation says the event will stream live on Samsung.com and Samsung’s YouTube channel from 9 p.m. KST. That is 1:00 p.m. BST today, Thursday, August 27, 2026.
The company has not named the device in the invitation, but it says the new addition is designed to bring core Galaxy S26 experiences, including camera, AI and the latest One UI, to users who want what matters most. That wording strongly points to a more accessible S26 family device, widely expected to be the Galaxy S26 FE.
The Galaxy FE line matters because it is Samsung’s way of taking parts of the flagship experience and pushing them into a more affordable package. That usually means users get a familiar design, strong camera features, Galaxy AI tools and long software support, while Samsung trims some premium hardware choices to keep the price lower.
This launch also comes at a more competitive moment than usual. Google’s Pixel 11 series has leaned heavily into Gemini and AI-first phone features, while Apple is preparing for its September 9 event. Samsung cannot simply sell hardware specs. It has to show that Galaxy AI and One UI make the device more useful every day.
That is why the AI details will matter as much as the processor, camera or battery. If Samsung brings more of the Galaxy S26 AI experience into a lower-priced model, it could make on-device and cloud-assisted AI features available to more users without pushing them toward the most expensive phones.
