The report discovered the new feature during an Android application package (APK) teardown of the app and claimed to have found it in the strings of code of WhatsApp for Android version 2.25.8.5. Users will not be able to test it out just yet because it is not a visible feature.
A floating action button (FAB) with a pencil icon directly above the Send button is reportedly how the AI Rewrite capability is accessible. According to reports, the option only shows up after the user enters text in the group or chat box. After a few words have been entered, users may reportedly press the pencil symbol to launch a text editor. It is said that users may choose from a wide variety of text rewriting options there.
Funny, Proofread, Puns, Rephrase, Sarcastic, Shorter, Spooky, and Supportive are among the rewriting possibilities provided by the tool, according to the article. Of them, the Proofread option is supposed to correct the message’s spelling and grammar, while the others alter the text’s tone.
