It looks like WhatsApp is developing a new feature based on artificial intelligence (AI). According to reports, they are working on a new Writing Help assistant function that could change how users write messages on the messaging platform and that would provide users with writing advice.

With the latest update it help of AI Private Processing “Writing Help”, users may now compose and reply to messages more rapidly improving your messages before sending them to friends and contacts. The most recent version of WhatsApp for Android, accessible through the Google Play Beta program, features the capability. It is stated that the Writing Help is optional.

The new auto-write AI-powered Writing Help assistant message feature, offers suggestions to help in writing messages which allows users to also edit their messages before sending them, is being tested by WhatsApp, according to a report by feature tracker WABetaInfo. The tool lets users personalise their messages by offering ideas in various tones. This functionality was observed in the most recent WhatsApp beta for Android version 2.25.23.7 upgrade, which is accessible through the Google Play Beta program. It is allegedly in early testing.

Meta’s Private Processing technology is supposed to be used by the Writing Help assistant. It is claimed that anonymous routing and encrypted connections are used to process AI-related queries, avoiding any connection between the request and the user’s identity. According to reports, the new feature would produce several message ideas without saving the content or any associated information.

This AI-powered tool analyses what you’ve written and provides helpful suggestions to make your messages more engaging and professional.

The Writing Help feature is  a step  in making digital communication more accessible and effective for everyone. If you’re writing an important work message  or simply want to improve your writing style, this AI assistant can provide valuable guidance with privacy.

The AI-powered writing assistant works by checking  the context of your messages, then offering suggestions for improvement. This could include recommendations for better word choices, sentence structure improvements, or tone adjustments to match the conversation style. The feature aims to help users communicate more clearly and effectively, especially in situations where precise communication matters.

WhatsApp’s decision  to introduce this  feature shows the demand for AI tools across social media and messaging platforms. AI has become more involved  in everyday apps, users are expecting smart features that can help their digital interactions without requiring too much effort.

Privacy remains important  for Whatsapp  with this AI feature. The company has designed the Writing Help assistant to process information safely  ensuring that personal data remain protected throughout the process. This privacy-first differentiate WhatsApp’s  from other AI writing tools that may use user data for other purposes.

Early reports from beta testers show that users can use the AI assistant through a simple tap when writing a message, making it easy to get write without disturbing the flow.

Users interested in trying the new Writing Help feature should consider joining the WhatsApp beta program to get early access. However, it’s important to remember that beta versions may contain bugs or incomplete features, so users should be prepared for occasional issues while testing these experimental capabilities.

The introduction of AI-powered writing assistance on WhatsApp is  an achievement in the upgrading of texting tools to billions of users of widely used platform.

The three AI-generated recommendations in one of five tones in Rephrase, Professional, Funny, Supportive, and Proofread which are purportedly available from Writing Help. Later on, more tones could be added. Without the receiver realising it was AI-assisted, users can send an AI-enhanced version of their message or leave their original message intact.

According to the report, WhatsApp would never use AI to alter or deliver messages without the explicit approval of the user. Only the chosen message is processed by Writing Help; the full chat is not processed. The functionality is supposedly optional, and if Private Processing is off by default, it won’t function unless the user explicitly activates it in the app’s settings.

As previously stated, a limited number of beta users can now test and provide feedback on the feature. It will probably be accessible in a future WhatsApp upgrade. Additionally, it might be updated before the official release date for the final release.
