Florida-based Digital creation company, Picsart has today announced that it will be adding an AI Image Generator and an AI Writer to create images and ad copy, as part of the technology company’s move to advance its suite of creative tools.

The company also announced that it will be bringing text-to-image generators to its catalogue. The  AI Image Generator, which is currently available in the Picsart platform on iOS, allows users create images with the process of simply entering a word, phrase or paragraph.

Users can access the AI Image Generator when after opening the iOS app, they tap the plus sign at the bottom of their screen to begin a new project. They will then have to proceed by scrolling down to find the tool, before clicking to select it. They can then enter a word, phrase or sentence about the intended image they hope to generate. Another option is selecting from the suggested keywords by tapping on the “Generate image” option to see their AI-created images results. They can then proceed to select their favorite image while they continue to edit it with other tools from Picsart.

The new AI Writer which includes an ad writer, social media bio creator, rephraser and marketing slogan maker, is designed in such a way as to support small business marketers with the making of copywriting tools that is accessible to all and sundry. The feature which is currently available through Picsart’sQuicktools can be accessed when users enter a few prompts, then select the particular tone or voice they are looking for, after which a copy will be generated in seconds.

Picsart founder and CEO Hovhannes Avoyan in a press release, while analyzing the effect of the AI-Image Generator and Writer said:

“Generative AI is a powerful new resource for visual creators and anyone who needs content. There are two huge advantages of this technology: the first is making creativity accessible to new people and the second is increasing productivity for those who already create. The tools we’re launching today are the first of many generative AI features we plan to roll out.”

The new AI Image Generator and AI Writer by Picsart will join the assemblage of the platform’s current AI tools, which included its AI Enhance and AI-Generated Fonts features.

The photo and video editing app became a unicorn last year after it was valued at over $1 billion in the wake of SoftBank Vision Fund 2 led a $130 million funding round . According to data from the Sensor Tower, Picsart has 150 million monthly active users, while it ranked as the 19th most downloaded app in 2021.

With the popularity of text-to-image AI generators soaring, the rollout of Picsart’s AI Image Generator is a plus to image editing, especially with the launch of OpenAI’s DALL-E 2, a powerful image generating AI system.
