Video calling platform, Skype, is now enhanced to support calls with up to a hundred participants at a time. The Microsoft owned company will allow users without an account to invite up to 99 people to a call with one link. These calls, according to Skype, will be allowed to be run for up to twenty-four hours. The Large Grid view that showed up to 49 users on-screen at a time, will now display up to 99 other users simultaneously.

Skype’s rolling out of support for up to 100 participants simultaneously, comes few weeks after the company announced its new support for noise cancellation and suppression to its Skype for desktop.

Earlier this month, Skype had added support for noise cancellation to its desktop version, which the company’s team revealed, in a blog post, that the feature was originally made for Microsoft Teams. The company stated, “We are pleased to announce the release of our latest background noise suppression feature in the Skype desktop app. Originally developed for Microsoft Teams, this new feature is designed to silence just about everything except for your voice when you’re meeting on Skype.”

In February, just last month, Skype released an update for its Android users. The new 8.68 Skype version for Android users saw a new background blur feature on the app. In addition to this, the Windows, Linux and Web versions of Skype were also updated. Skype rolled out new features on the Skype Windows, Linux and Web version, one of which is a new custom reaction picker. The company also updated its iOS version of Skype, with a share extension, dark theme, and a generally improved performance.

Skype’s new features allows for massive interactions and makes it easier than ever for friends and family to stay connected. Family reunions, class reunions, or company-wide meetings, just got simpler with Skype, thanks to its doubled number of people that can be on a video call simultaneously. Skype’s updated versions with new practical features only depicts the company’s intention to remain relevant and to stay for as long as possible in the market.
